It has been a season to remember for the Bonnyton gents’ team, who have completed a historic double: the Brand Putter League title and, for the first time in the club’s history, the Boundary Bell.
Brand Putter League champions

The league title came down to a tense final match against Pollok, played at Cathkin Braes as the neutral venue. With everything on the line, the team produced a fantastic 5½–2½ victory to finish one point ahead of Cathkin Braes.
Congratulations to team captain Allan Johnston, who led the team superbly throughout the campaign, and to club captain Brian Caplan, vice-captain Colin Weir and the whole squad.
Boundary Bell winners for the first time

On Sunday 30th August, Bonnyton met Glasgow Golf Club at Lenzie Golf Club for the Boundary Bell. The games were closely contested throughout, with Bonnyton coming out on top with a superb 6–2 victory.
The Boundary Bell is an annual challenge match between the winners of the Brand Putter League, representing clubs in the south of the city, and the winners of the Donald Cameron League, contested by clubs north of the city.
Well done to Allan Johnston, Grant Beaton, Willie MacMillan, Mark MacMillan, Neil Gray, Chris Kelly, Sam Binning, Scott Douglas, David Dickson and Chris Lang.
The bell now takes pride of place next to the bar. Members are encouraged to come into the clubhouse and see it for themselves.
A special mention also goes to the gents, who stayed on after their own historic win to support our junior team through their closing holes. It was a fantastic example of the club spirit at Bonnyton.
