Tommy Fleetwood Crowned FedExCup Champion

ommy Fleetwood has finally broken through on the PGA Tour — and in the biggest way possible. After 164 attempts, the Englishman captured his first PGA Tour title at the Tour Championship and with it, the coveted FedExCup crown.
A composed final-round 68 (-2) at East Lake sealed the deal, finishing three shots clear of Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley. Fleetwood’s victory is historic: he becomes the first player ever to win the FedExCup as his maiden PGA Tour triumph, and only the second Englishman to do so, following Justin Rose.
Fleetwood’s Performance
Fleetwood began the day tied for the lead but quickly stamped his authority on the tournament. An early birdie at the 2nd hole — the only one recorded on that hole all day — gave him breathing room, while a string of steady pars and clutch recoveries ensured he held off his challengers.
Even when nerves crept in on the back nine, Fleetwood dug deep. By the time he walked up the 18th, his three-shot cushion allowed him to savour the moment, finishing with a par that sparked emotional celebrations.
Reflecting afterwards, Fleetwood said:
“164 starts… but now a champion. Hopefully this is just the first of many.”
