Team Daly won by two shots in the PNC Championship; Team Woods, consisting of Tiger and his 12-year-old son Charlie, finishes second after firing 11 straight birdies on their way to a final-round 57.

Tiger Woods lost out on a triumphant comeback to professional golf following an unbelievable last round with his son, Charlie, at the PNC Championship. Woods’ performance at the 36-hole team event, which is exclusively accessible to major and Players champions and their offspring, was his first competitive start since incurring career-threatening injuries to his leg and ankle in a vehicle accident in February.

The 15-time major champion, wearing his distinctive red shirt and riding in a golf cart around the Ritz-Carlton Golf Course, made a Sunday charge after teaming up with his son to score 11 consecutive birdies on a thrilling Sunday.

The dazzling performance helped them record a final-round 57 in the scramble format to finish solo second, while two-time major champion John Daly and his son – also named John – matched Woods’ total to win by two shots and set a tournament record of 27 under.

Woods showed off his outstanding short game by going close to the flag on multiple occasions throughout his round, while his son’s length off the tee and good putting contributed significantly to the team’s ascension up the leaderboard.
