Team Europe Regain Solheim Cup After Thrilling Victory Over USA

After a tense contest across the three days, Europe went into the Sunday singles needing a strong response. The momentum had swung back towards the USA late on Saturday, but Anna Nordqvist’s side delivered when it mattered most, winning seven of the 12 singles points to secure the trophy.

Charley Hull was trusted to lead Europe out in the opening singles match and justified that decision with an impressive 3&2 victory over Megan Khang. It was an important point for Europe and helped set the tone for a strong final day.

Hull had endured a frustrating week alongside Lottie Woad in the team sessions, despite both players producing plenty of good golf. However, both responded well in singles, with Woad also claiming a vital victory over Auston Kim to move Europe to the brink of success.

Carlota Ciganda then delivered the decisive result, defeating Jennifer Kupcho to confirm Europe’s victory and spark celebrations among the home team.

It was a memorable win for Europe and a proud moment for captain Anna Nordqvist, who praised the commitment, spirit and quality shown by her players throughout the week.

The Solheim Cup once again delivered everything that makes team golf so compelling: pressure, momentum swings, passionate support and outstanding individual performances.

The next Solheim Cup will take place in 2028 at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky. Interested in joining our ladies section? Visit this link.
