What a finish at Harbour Town!

Justin Thomas is back in the winner’s circle, securing his first PGA Tour title since the 2022 PGA Championship with a thrilling play-off victory at the RBC Heritage. After a nail-biting final round, Thomas edged out Andrew Novak with a clutch birdie putt on the first extra hole—his 16th career win on the PGA Tour.

Thomas was on fire all week, closing with a bogey-free 68 to finish at 17-under. Novak matched him, but a missed birdie putt from eight feet on the 72nd hole opened the door for a play-off. Back at the 18th tee, both players found the green in regulation, but it was Thomas who rose to the occasion, rolling in a 20-footer to seal the win in style.

“It’s so hard to force the issue on a course like this,” Thomas said after the round. “I've never made a putt to win from that distance—this one was special.”

Andrew Novak, who was chasing his first PGA Tour title, handled the pressure admirably. Despite not feeling fully dialed in with his swing all week, he hung tough and nearly stole the show. “I thought I was more comfortable down the stretch than I have been in the past. That’s a win in itself,” Novak said.

Elsewhere on the leaderboard, Daniel Berger made a big move with a 65 to tie for third alongside Mackenzie Hughes, Brian Harman, and Maverick McNealy. England’s Tommy Fleetwood held his own, finishing solo seventh, while world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler slipped to T8 after a costly back nine.

A few takeaways:

  • Justin Thomas showed composure, grit, and class throughout the weekend.
  • Andrew Novak continues to rise—expect to see him inside the world’s top 50 soon.
  • Harbour Town proved once again why it's one of the most strategic and exciting tracks on tour.

Up next? Rory McIlroy is set to return for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside Shane Lowry as they defend their team title. Keep an eye on that one—it’s always a fun format.
