Hudson Swafford wins the American Express
Swafford earns a Masters invite with his second victory at The American Express, having won his first PGA Tour title at the same tournament in 2017; Power finishes tied-14th in California alongside world No. 1 Jon Rahm.
Hudson Swafford produced a strong finish to win The American Express for a second time, as Ireland’s Seamus Power saw his hopes fade on the final day in California.
Swafford combined an eagle, eight birdies, and two bogeys in a final-round 64 on the Stadium Course at PGA West, finishing on 23 under par and two shots ahead of compatriot Tom Hoge.
Brian Harman tied for third with Lanto Griffin and Lee Hodges, while Francesco Molinari's bogey on the 18th forced him to settle for a 68 and a tie for sixth. Power started the day just two strokes behind the lead, but he double-bogeyed the first hole and finished with a 74 to fall into an eight-way tie for 14th, alongside world No. 1 Jon Rahm.
Rahm finished the week on 14 under par with a one-under 71 on the final day.
