Dream Debut for Lottie Woad

Bonnyton Golf Club would like to celebrate a truly inspiring story in the world of golf. England’s Lottie Woad stunned the golfing world this weekend by winning the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open — on her professional debut.
The 21-year-old English sensation closed out the tournament at Dundonald Links with a final-round 68, finishing 21 under par, three strokes ahead of her closest rival, Hyo Joo Kim. This caps off a phenomenal July for Woad, having already claimed the KPMG Women's Irish Open earlier in the month and narrowly missing out on a major at the Amundi Evian Championship.
Her success places her in elite company, becoming just the third player in LPGA history to win in their first appearance as an LPGA Tour member. She's also only the 12th Englishwoman to capture an LPGA title. Incredible!
“I definitely wasn't expecting to win my first event,” Woad said. “But I knew I was playing well. It was pretty nice in the end — being able to lay up on the par five and win in style.”
Woad’s confidence, calm approach, and exceptional play — including five birdies and only one bogey in the final round — have made her one to watch as the season heads toward the AIG Women's Open.
