Celine Boutier Claims ShopRite LPGA Title

France’s Celine Boutier produced a superb final round to win the ShopRite LPGA, finishing one shot clear of Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol and two ahead of Ireland’s Lauren Walsh.

Boutier began the final day four shots off the lead but surged through the field with a five-under-par 66. Her round included a key run of birdies around the turn, helping her post a winning total of nine under par.

South Korea’s Soo Bin Joo had started the day in control, but her lead disappeared after a difficult stretch on the front nine. A costly double bogey on the 13th ended her chances of claiming a first LPGA Tour title, while Boutier remained steady under pressure.

The victory marks Boutier’s first LPGA title in three years and her second win at the ShopRite LPGA, having previously lifted the trophy five years ago. It is also her seventh LPGA Tour victory and 12th professional win worldwide.

There was also a strong Irish showing, with Lauren Walsh carding a final-round 67 to finish third. Leona Maguire also enjoyed a solid week, ending the tournament tied ninth on four under par.

Boutier’s return to the winner’s circle comes at an ideal time, with the US Women’s Open taking place from June 4 to 7 at Riviera Country Club in California.
