Golf fans were treated to a dramatic finish at the Travelers Championship this weekend, where Keegan Bradley snatched victory from Tommy Fleetwood in heart-stopping fashion.
Heading into the final round at TPC River Highlands with a three-shot lead, Fleetwood appeared poised to finally claim his elusive first PGA Tour title. Despite a rocky start—bogeying three of his first four holes—the Englishman managed to stay in contention right up until the final hole.
Bradley, three shots adrift with just four holes to play, mounted a stunning comeback. After sinking a monster 65-foot birdie earlier in the round, he nailed another long-range putt on the 15th to close the gap. Fleetwood’s bogey at the 16th tightened the contest, setting up a dramatic finish.
Still leading by one on the 18th tee, Fleetwood faltered with a tentative approach and three-putted from the fringe for bogey. Meanwhile, Bradley stuck his approach to six feet and calmly rolled in the birdie putt to clinch a one-shot victory.
Bradley’s closing 68 brought him to 15-under for the tournament, securing his eighth PGA Tour win. Fleetwood’s heartbreak continued as he finished tied for second alongside Russell Henley, who capped his own round with a holed-out birdie from the rough on the 18th.
Speaking after the round, Bradley admitted, “I just felt like I was too far behind all day. But I made the putts when I had to. Really, really crazy finish.”
For Fleetwood, it was another painful near-miss: “I’m gutted. I didn’t putt well enough today and made poor decisions on the last. It’s the worst way to finish—leading with a few holes to play and not even making a play-off.”
Behind the leaders, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler also made Sunday charges with matching final-round 65s, finishing in a tie for sixth.
The PGA Tour now moves on to the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, where Australia’s Cam Davis will defend his title. Coverage starts Thursday on Sky Sports Golf.
