Bonnyton’s junior golfers made the club proud this weekend with an outstanding showing at the Scottish Under 14s Championships in Crieff.
Jimmy Middleton produced a brilliant performance, firing a superb 3-under-par second round to finish the tournament at -2. That secured him 11th place overall in a field of 144 golfers — an incredible achievement against such strong international competition. Jimmy was also:
- 2nd top Scottish player
- Top Renfrewshire golfer
Harris Copeland was equally impressive, shooting a level-par second round to finish the tournament at +3. He claimed 16th place overall and:
- 3rd top Scot
- 2nd top Renfrewshire golfer
- 2nd top Under-12 player in the entire championship

For one club to produce the top two Scottish players in such a competitive, international field is something truly special. It speaks volumes about the strength of Bonnyton’s junior section — built through the dedication of Jonny Hechts development program and the exciting progress of our Fleming Watson team, which looks set for even bigger things next season.
And if that wasn’t enough, Jimmy also picked up another win last Sunday at a Stephen Gallagher Foundation event in Linlithgow.
A huge congratulations to both Jimmy and Harris — your hard work and talent are an inspiration to the whole club. Bonnyton juniors are on the rise! 🚀
