Arnold Palmer Invitational: Rory McIlroy has a forgettable day at Bay Hill as Scottie Scheffler dominates.
At Bay Hill, Scottie Scheffler won with a masterful putting performance; Rory McIlroy struggled in the last round after a string of bogeys put him in reverse gear.
With a six under 66 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational easily, Scottie Scheffler became the first world No. 1 to win at Bay Hill since 2009.
Scheffler put on quite the show, finishing at 15 under, five strokes ahead of Wyndham Clark, the runner-up, and Irishman Shane Lowry, who came in third on nine under.
Scheffler picked up the pace after opening nine holes that seemed trouble-free and included two birdies. He nailed seven of the first nine fairways, and he sealed his lead with birdies on the tenth and eleventh holes.
