Are you ready for the 1st tee?
Any new hobby might be daunting on your first try. Those of us who have been playing the sport our entire lives may take for granted all the minor details that occur during our rounds of golf so here is a high-level viewpoint, beginners guide to Golf in 2022.
Firstly: Are you prepared to hit the 1st tee?
You should take a series of PGA professional lessons with David Andrews our resident pro. Outdoor-based instruction programmes that utilise video analysis and radar tracking ball flight technology such as Flight scope, are available with lessons offers. If you're ready for the course David will tell you. Playing lessons are an excellent option as you can learn the game, rules, and etiquette.
Is Bonnyton the right course for beginners?
· Players don’t need to be wearing the latest brands apparel to be welcome at Bonnyton but we do require a collared shirt and tailored trousers for play
· Pace of play is very important, and you must keep up with the game in front. Rounds shouldn’t take more than 3 hours 30 mins
· Repair pitch marks (ball imprints on the green)· Rake bunkers
· Leave you bags on the side of the green nearest the next tee box
· In winter remember winter wheels and mats are compulsory
· Shout “FORE” loudly and quickly if you think a shot may be heading towards other players
After the round enjoy our excellent catering from Nigel and Janice.
If you would like to try the course, we have an excellent winter offer. £30pp Monday – Friday including a hot roll. Winter wheels and mats are required and can be purchased from the Pro shop. Bookable here.
